John Payne shot two hole-in-ones in the same round at Sally Creek Golf Course on Sunday.
WOODSTOCK - Sally Creek Golf Club witnessed history.
On Sunday October 22nd, Woodstock native John Payne had the round of his life, making not one, but two hole-in-ones.
He was out with his friends, Tom Shaddick and Jake Deverell, and Payne said he had witnessed three hole-in-ones throughout the summer.
He says his first happened on hole 3.
"We get up there, and as we are getting closer we're getting a little excited. Then, sure as anything there it is, right in the cup. We had a minor celebration, and took a few pictures."
He adds, that the second hole-in-one came two holes later, which was a shot 117 yards into the sun, and again he didn't see the ball until they got to the green and it was in the cup.
Payne mentions that he is sharing his story to encourage people who might be just like him... a bogey golfer.
"Maybe they've never done anything spectacular. All I can say is, if you play enough and keep hitting the ball, maybe something like this will happen."
According to the National Hole-in-One Registry, the chances of someone hitting two hole-in-ones in the same round are 1 in 67-million.
