Over 60 banners featuring local veterans are on display in downtown Woodstock.
WOODSTOCK - Remembrance Day is fast approaching and local veterans are being honoured.
Banners featuring brave men and women who have served in war are now hanging from the light poles in downtown Woodstock.
The Parks and Rec Department worked with the local Legion (Branch 55) and the Woodstock Navy Club to make this happen.
Manager of Special Events, Kristen Brodhagen says besides the Poppy Campaign, there is going to be new scenery.
"We are very fortunate this year to implement a new initiative, which was another way to kind of recognize and embrace local veterans in our local community, through the pole banner program."
She says if you can't get downtown to see them, you have another option.
"They are posted on our website as well. So there are over 60 of them, about 64, and that is again on cityofwoodstock.ca/rememberanceday."
The banners will be on display throughout the Royal Canadian Legion's Poppy Campaign which will officially kick off on October 27th.
