Woodstock Police are sporting two brand new vehicles in their fleet. Police recently added two new Ford Interceptors, which are new models being built by Ford to replace the Crown Victoria. WPS Deputy Chief Daryl Longworth says they're expecting some big savings from these vehicles: "The newer version of the Inceptors are smaller versions. They tend to be more fuel efficient. And that's one of the biggest things for us is fuel efficiency. We're anticipating anywhere from 15-25% reduction in fuel costs from the previous Crown Victoria's." But while the Interceptor is a smaller vehicle than the Crown Vic., the Woodstock Police bought an SUV model. It's being used as a Supervisor vehicle and can carry more equipment and gear that officers may need.
