Over a thousand guns and ammunition were brought to OPP and Woodstock Police.
OPP and Woodstock Police have completed a successful gun amnesty bringing in over a thousand guns and ammunition.
A total of 1,503 guns were turned into OPP while 4 guns were turned into Woodstock Police.
The guns turned into Woodstock police will be destroyed. Some of the guns brought to OPP will be retained for historical, educational and training purposes.
Woodstock Police will still be accepting guns despite the gun registry ended. Interested gun owners are asked to call the Woodstock Police non-emergency number at 1-519-537-2323. Police will then arrange to safely retrieve the weapons.
Police state that under no circumstances should anyone deliver guns or ammunition directly to police facilities.
