Woodstock Police officers were honoured for their years of service on Monday.
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Police Service held their annual Awards and Recognition Ceremony on Monday.
Two officers were given the Police Exemplary Service Medal which recognizes officers who have exemplary manner, characterized by good conduct, industry and efficiency. Constable James Daleug received the 30 year bar for his years of good service.
Inspector Paul Hess, Staff Sergeant Rod Wilkinson, Constable Diane Ruppert and Constable Steven Berkeley were presented with the 20 year exemplary service medal.
Constables Bob Bezzo and Tim Wiseman received the Jeff Pincombe Bursary. They were given the bursary for passing their basic training with a 90% average.
A couple of civilians were also presented with service medals. They are Communications Dispatchers Diane Paulter for thirty- five years of service, Lindsay Batte for fifteen years of service and Marnie MacMeeken for thirteen years of service. Special Constable Larry Carter was recognized for eleven years of service with the Court Security Unit and has recently retired.
Chief Bill Renton says it is always great to recognize our members for their hard work.
"It is one of the more pleasurable events in our policing duties when we have the opportunity to recognize the hard work and dedication of our members. Policing is an extremely complex and challenging profession and for the members being recognized this year, it truly speaks to the years of service and commitment to the community which is commendable."
