Saving the outdoor pool and the spray and play wading pool was a major topic during City Council.
WOODSTOCK - It was a hot topic covered last night at Woodstock City Council.
There was a delegation regarding saving the current outdoor pool and spray and play wading pool. Delegation Leader, Emily Hewitt says they had to pivot from their original petitions to a Google document, but that didn't stop them.
"It gave us extra drive and passion to get the word out there. In three weeks we were able to get 1227 signatures."
Hewitt says the number continues to grow as the petition is still available to sign, and she mentions that the public needs to continue to share their thoughts and feedback regarding the amenities. Hewitt adds, some of the feedback that has already been given.
"People kept saying Southside isn't enough, and even Brian Connors the head of Parks and Recreation agreed with that."
Hewitt says the Council was receptive to the information, and the group wants the Council to redo the aquatic section of the 2021 recreation facilities need study.
