
The Woodstock Police continue to make sure the streets are safe and free of drugs and impaired drivers.
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Police have gotten drugs off the streets.
This past Friday, an officer was on general patrol downtown when they saw a person wanted on an outstanding warrant. The individual was taken into custody, and while being searched police found suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, stolen property, and cash. The seized drugs had an estimated street value of over 7-thousand dollars.
As a result, a 40-year-old Woodstock woman is facing charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking - fentanyl, possession for the purpose of trafficking - methamphetamine, and possession of property obtained by crime under $5000.
She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

WOODSTOCK - A Woodstock man finds himself in hot water with police.
On Saturday at 12:30 p.m., Woodstock Police responded to an unresponsive driver at the intersection of Mill Street and Parkinson Road. Once on scene, officers found drug paraphernalia was found by the driver, who had to be taken to hospital for assessment due to drug impairment.
Through further investigation, it was determined that the vehicle was stolen. While searching the man, police found several key fobs, break-in tools, and a device commonly used to start vehicles without a key.
As a result, a 31-year-old is facing a total of 14 charges including, operation while impaired by alcohol or drugs, contrary to Criminal Code 320.14(1)(a), possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, possession of a device for the purpose of committing theft, possession of break-in instruments, 7 counts of operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code, failure to comply with release order - other than to attend court, failure to comply with an undertaking, and failure to comply with a probation order.
He was held in custody for a bail hearing.

WOODSTOCK - Charges have been laid after a break-and-enter in Woodstock.
On Saturday, Woodstock Police responded to Ingersoll Road for a break-and-enter in progress. Officers were able to find a man walking nearby shortly after the call came in. It is said a witness saw the man enter the property, and that led to the arrest of a 46-year-old Woodstock man.
He has been charged with break-and-enter with the intent of committing an indictable offence. The Woodstock Police are reminding the public to report any suspicious activity in order to keep communities safe.
