Over 60 people have purchased a plaque for a loved one who has passed away
ZORRA TOWNSHIP - The Township of Zorra will be unveiling three new Memorial Tree Signs.
They will feature plaques of people who have passed away and a family has planted a tree in their honour. At least 60 people have already participated in the Township program where you can plant a tree in memory of your loved one. Municipal Clerk Karen Martin tells Heart FM they will be leaving some space on the signs for additional plaques in the future. " So the plaques can be purchased with the tree for the loved one, the name plaque can be placed on one of the three signs or on all three signs depending on where they are from in the area."
They will be having a ribbon cutting ceremony at three locations Friday July 10th. One will be at Grace Patterson Park at 9:30 a.m, the Embro Pond at 10:30 a.m. and the Harrington Conservation Area at 11:30 a.m. Councillors will ‘cut the ribbon’ to officially welcome the signs to each park. Everyone is welcome and Coffee and Cookies to be provided.
